Being in the dispensary

For the past few commercial Friday sessions i have been in the dispensary handing out the different products and tools to the stylists. Being in the dispensary is very beneficial as i have learnt where the best place to store certain products are and how to organise the different colouring products. Working in the dispensary you have to be very organised and remember to record who has borrowed what tools and what colour they have had. You must also remember that once you are finished in there that you lock all of the cabinets back up in order to make sure that everyone is safe and that nothing goes missing.

What i have been doing during my extra Wednesday sessions

During these Wednesday morning sessions that i have been attending at college i have spent my time completing a CV, writing my personal statement and also looking for local salons that are setting on.
During these sessions i have also helped other students improve both their skills and their confidence by allowing the beauty students to practice their skills on me.  With just a few weeks left i will continue to look and apply for jobs.

Testing out different percentages of peroxides

In this weeks Demo session we tested out four different strengths of peroxide with bleach on one head.
This was done by sectioning the head into four sections and using a different strength peroxide on each section, the strengths of peroxide being 3%,6%,9% and 12%.
Once the bleach was on we were then set the task of watching the hair colour go through the changes and try to identify the depths of the hair using a lightening curve.
